The teatro Degollado is a mid-19 century jewel built in 1856-1866. It has gone through many renovation throughout the century. It was originally called teatro Alarcón, in honor of the classical playwright Juan Ruiz de Alarcón. After the Reform wars(1857-1861) the governor Pedro Ogazon changed the name to Santos Degollado,former governor and general who died in battle in 1861. Most of the renovations of the theater were done to improve the interior design and reinforce the roof of the building. Between 1953-1959 artist Roberto Montenegro designed and crafted the mosaic of Apollo and the Nine Muses on the theaters pediment. 16 Corinthian columns support the pediment.
The theater is now home of the Jalisco Philharmonic and the place of high artistic performances.

This beautiful boutique hotel called ‘Bungalows Demetria’ was not always a hotel. This place is a living,cultural and architectural heritage of Guadalajara.
This place was built in 1930 by the famed architect Pedro Castellanos Lambley. It is an example of the Tapatío school of architecture style of Pedro castellanos. The central courtyard functions as a cool oasis from the outside warmth. There is heavy walls with arches that serve as buttresses, moorish arches and tile flooring along with preserving the patina of the original exterior walls give this place an old feel but with modern amenities.! There is a cafe that serves cappuccinos and coffee and pastries.

I had the privilege of being host to a beautiful Russian couple for 3 days.! We explored tequila,Zapopan,Tlaquepaque and Guadalajara.! We went to museums,walked colonia Americana,artesan shops,cafes,and underground museum.Gracias for contracting my services to be your personal guide.

Designed by the architect Pedro Castellanos,this is one of the two neo-gothic churches in Guadalajara. All the carving, inside and outside the enclosure, was done by a single person, José Refugio Godínez, for more than half a century.

The temple has 24 stained glass windows of 12 meters high by 1 meter wide, except for the monumental one. The themes of the stained glass windows are the 15 mysteries of the rosary, and were made from the sketches of Alfonso de Lara Gallardo.

The interior features slender columns with sharp arches 23 meters high and the altar is carved by a single block of pink quarry with rich and symbolic ornamentation on the sides and the image of the Rosary in the center.
The temple had its development at the same time as the Mexican Revolution, and although its name is the temple of Our Lady of the Rosary, everyone knows it better for the church of Father David Galván Bermúdez.
Father Galván was shot in 1915, two blocks from where the temple stands today, exactly on Coronel Calderón Street.
