in two days we're going to start our "lifetime-experience-journey" through belize, honduras, salvador, guatemala and chiapas. we're going to spend hours in chicken buses listening to reggaeton, cross more than one border a day, jump into the atitlan lake, climb a volcano, survive in two of the world's most dangerous cities, meet a lot of new people, sleep on couchsurfing, lay in a hammock on the coast, eat plenty of banana bread and try not to die out of mosquitos. and we simply cannot wait

we were a bit afraid to come to Guadalajara, because two weeks ago, due to 'narcos war' with the police, the narcos blocked the city centre and burned some buses, but eventually, having heard that 'before the burned the buses they told the civils to leave it' we decided to go and it turned out to be the best decision of the month. we love you, Guadalajara and Jalisco. we love you for narcocorridos (songs glorifying local narcos) sung by the band in the bar, for cantaritos (huuuge pots with tequila), tequila factory in Tequila, tortas ahogadas (sandwiches covered with tomato sauce), jokes about Chilangolandia ( = D.F.), bands playing Arctic Monkey's covers in the pub, Orozco's murals and the Chapultepec street full of bars and restaurants. we'll surely come back!

ostatni miesiąc w Meksyku przed wyjazdem w podróż po Ameryce Centralnej staje się intensywnym czasem nadrabiania zaległości na każdym polu. dziś pojechałyśmy do Teotihuacán - stanowiska archeologicznego, które wciąż kryje wiele tajemnic. nadal nie wiadomo, kto zbudował to święte miasto. według legendy byli to olbrzymi, którzy mieli żyć przed pojawieniem się ludzi. w II wieku p.n.e. powstało tu wielkie prekolumbijskie centrum religijne i osiedliło się wiele plemion. na jego terenie znajduje się między innymi Piramida Słońca (na którą można wejść. regularnie spadają z niej ludzie, bo jest dosyć stromo, ale nam udało się przeżyć!) oraz Piramida Księżyca, na którą prowadzą schodki nazwane przez nas schodkami śmierci, bo prawie dostałyśmy zawału z powodu zadyszki. na zdjęciu my na jakiejś no-name piramidzie oraz strzałka pokazująca Piramidę Słońca xD

we're planning our next trip: after visiting Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala, we want to go to Suriname, Guyana, French Guiana, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela and Brazil. if you wish to help us, we'd be sooo much happier :)
