WHALE MAGIC TOURS provide unique, intimate, educational whale watching experiences to Ojo de Liebre (Scammon’s Lagoon) near Guerrero Negro in Baja California Sur. The mother/daughter team Shari & Sirena Bondy are bilingual naturalists guides who have lived and studied gray whales in the lagoon since 1988. They personally guide your tour to teach you all about the whales behavior, biology, histo

ry of the lagoon and share spellbinding stories of human & whale encounters they have witnessed. Choose from a variety of package options including fly-in and drive-in with either hotel accommodations or camping at the lagoon. Everything is arranged for you so you can relax and enjoy a magnificent whale adventure. You can spend the day at the Lagoon eating at the fantastic restaurant, exploring the interpretive center, do some world class birdwatching as well as tour the world’s largest salt works.

My last whale tour of the season was dedicated to a friend named Flipper who is no longer with us. Her husband scattered her remains in the lagoon she so dearly loved.

During the ceremony, not 10 seconds after releasing the ashes, a Dolphin & friendly whale appeared out of nowhere! It truly was whale Magic! It was a wonderful ending to a great season.
