We created our home to be family friendly, as well as an incredible place to work or get away with friends. Casa ensenada is a tranquil oasis with sounds of the ocean and privacy from the surrounding mangrove trees, while at the same time having plentiful services within walking distance. A unique feature of our home is that it is full service, meaning we provide daily maid & concierge services, and an on-site personnel to anticipate your every need. Before during & your trip, our house manager / concierge will be at your full disposle to help you plan the vacation of a lifetime. Once on the island we provide daily cleaning service, as well as on-site staff support. From airport transfers and ferry tickets, to sunset cruises or meals eat the home, you name it, we can help you book it! Healthy & Safety Updates To meet the new health and safety challenges and expectations presented by COVID-19, Casa Ensenada is launching new initiatives based on recommendations and guidelines from the CDC, WHO and Mexican Government, which are focused on enhanced cleaning & disinfecting practices, social interactions, staff training, and workplace protocols.

Below are a list of some of the key changes we have implemented so you can have peace of mind for your vacation:

48 hour window allotted between each guest departure and new arrival to ensure adequate time to properly clean and disinfect the home

All staff is trained and required to use personal protective equipment while on the property, such as facemasks, gloves and aprons

Minimizing person-to-person contact by offering self-check-in and virtual welcome tour

Providing disinfectant wipes, and hand sanitizer in the house. Also providing refillable travel hand sanitizer bottles to use around the island

We will work with you to schedule a convenient time to do what is needed inside the house while you are enjoying the pool & patio deck, relaxing on the beach below the property (weather permitting) or out exploring the island, all the while the staff completes their daily cleaning inside, so you do not occupy the same space as the staff at the same time

We have installed a second internet service company to provide various wi-fi networks, since there are now more people at home competing for internet

We will also continue to offer the following services, courtesy of being a guest at Casa Ensenada:

Daily cleaning and disinfecting shall occur in accordance with CDC guidelines of all rooms inside the home especially frequently touched surfaces, replacement of towels, replacement of sheets upon request, trash removal, and washing dishes

Complimentary personal laundry service of your washable clothes (not dry cleaning)

Continue to provide paper products such as toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, tissues as well as antibacterial soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion

Provide staff services so you can avoid public interaction such as pre-arrival and during-your-stay grocery shopping and local restaurant delivery options

Pre-prepared meals or meal delivery by our house chef can be also arranged (additional cost)

Overview: The house has four levels in total and two separate “units”. The main house, level 1 & 2, has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The 3rd level is a Penthouse Apartment overlooking the Caribbean Sea. This apartment has its own separate entrance and a connecting door to 2nd level of the house, that is locked when either unit is rented / in use or open if the entire house is rented together. The third level can occasionally be rented with level one and two. Please send us a message or email at [email protected] if you are interested in renting the entire home (levels 1-3). The basement has the residence of our on-site house staff and the laundry room.

Main House - Level One The first floor of the home has a fully equipped chef's kitchen with quartz countertops, an industrial-sized refrigerator, gas oven and range, as well as an electric oven and all of the appliances and cooking equipment that you might need to prepare your meals or hire a personal chef to do so for you. There is an eat-in kitchen table for four, a dining room table that seats ten, living room and TV room, that is a popular spot for the kids while the adults are socializing in the common spaces. There is also a bluetooth Sound Bar and DVD player in the downstairs TV room.

The first floor back patio area has a beautiful pool with an LED light system and waterfall, an eight person dining table, living area and a gate to the protected mangrove forest with a path to the ocean below. The beach area below can be reached by a stair ladder followed by a descending path down the edge of the island. Upon request, we can provide and set-up beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, snorkel equipment, sand toys and bodyboards for your personal use. The beach area below the property is weather permitting, occasionally bringing larger waves and smaller beach area. Please scroll down to “Beach Access” for more details about what the beach area is like near our home, on the Caribbean side of Isla Mujeres. We have a full bathroom at the front of the house with a rainfall shower to wash off your sandy feet, before heading back into the house.

The first floor of the home has a beautiful bedroom with a king-sized bed, ensuite bathroom and large closet. This bedroom can be used for anyone that has problems with going up stairs, since the home has a wheelchair accessible ramp connected to the front staircase. This room also has a door connecting to the patio/pool area.

Main House - Level Two The second floor has three bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a small TV area. The master suite has a king-sized canopy bed and a terrace with a hanging swing chair, outdoor seating and a small table to have your morning coffee or tea while listening to the sounds of the ocean below. There is a children's suite with a bunk bed, that has a full-sized mattress on bottom and an individual bunk on top. This bedroom also has an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub for the little ones, as well as a large closet, toys and games. The third bedroom is a guest suite with a queen-sized bed, full bathroom and closet.

Guest Limit & Sleeping Arrangements - Main House On the first two floors of the home, there are 9 guest sleeping spaces in beds. With our extra sleeping arrangements, we can sleep comfortably 11 guests. We will allow up to 15 total guests in the home, for $50 USD extra per person, per night after 11. Both children and adults are included in this total. Additional sleeping arrangements include a full-size couch in the first floor TV room, a full pullout sofa bed in the second floor TV area, and we can provide two queen-sized air mattresses. All suites have a Smart TV and a large safe that fits most laptops, for your convenience.

Penthouse Apartment - Level Three Casa Ensenada’s Penthouse Apartment is available to be rented out with the lower two levels select times of the year, and for that reason it is truly a special experience. The unit is located on the third level of Casa Ensenada and has beautiful ocean views in every single room, as well as a stunning view of the island and ocean on the large terrace. On the terrace there is outdoor seating and a high rise table for four to enjoy the incredible views. Additionally, there is a jetted bathtub with a rainfall shower for the ultimate relaxation experience.

The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, including a gas oven and range, as well as all of the appliances and cooking equipment you may need . There is an eat in kitchen table with seating for four, as well as living and dining room space with a six person dining room table, large wrap around couch and smart TV with mirror connection. The master bedroom has a full bathroom, closet, TV and sliding door access to the terrace. The guest suite also has its own full bathroom, closet, and TV, as well as a small desk. A unique feature of this apartment is its own private washer/dryer, access to a printer, and desk in the guest suite, for anyone who may need a work space while on their trip. Beach Access Our home is on an inlet on a cliff on the Caribbean side of the island. The beach can be reached by a stair ladder, followed by a descending path through the island rock. Our beach is a popular spot for the local sea turtles to make their nests during mating season. The swim-ability of the ocean and size of the beach area on this side of the island depend on the weather. When the water is calm, you may go swimming or wade through the water. On a nice day, there are sandy areas to set up the beach items we provide including beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, snorkel gear, cooler, floaties, bodyboards and sand toys. If it is a day with stronger winds or a “Norte”, it may not be safe to swim because of the waves, rocky areas and receding beach area on this side of the island. Only the public beaches have lifeguards, so it is never recommended to go out far. We also recommend packing & wearing water shoes. Since our house is on a cliff, there is a decline to the ocean below and an incline to come back up. This could be challenging for those with mobility restrictions.

We will work with you before arrival & during your stay to schedule a convenient time to do what is needed inside the house while you are enjoying the pool & patio deck, relaxing on the beach below the property (weather permitting) or out exploring the island, all the while the staff completes their daily cleaning inside, so you do not occupy the same space as the staff at the same time, adhering to new safety standards.

Your on-site staff can help with anything you may need during your stay, such as errand running for snacks & beverages, grocery shopping, ordering taxis to the home, local recommendations, and even complementary laundry service!

Additionally, we offer a Beach Set-up Service, with your choice of beach gear from our collection, we'll carry down & set up all items for you to enjoy such as beach towels, umbrellas & chairs, snorkel gear, bodyboards, sand toys, and coolers to name a few options! (weather permitting)

Also included during your stay is our friendly concierge who lives locally on the island. This complementary service is available to help you plan the perfect, stress-free vacation and ensure your every desire has been anticipated. Planning starts from the minute you book, offering our expertise in transportation from the airport to the island. Upon arrival, to adhere to social distancing practices, we have created a self check-in experience with a welcome video tour created by your host. We are happy to introduce you to the island we love and call home, utilizing our years of experience and local connections. Let us pre-stock your fridge with your favorite drinks and snacks, arrange a golf cart to be delivered to the home, plan an excursion out on the water (sunset cruises, snorkeling, fishing & more!), or help with restaurant recommendations based on your preferences. Please note: Availability of certain services such as excursions may be affected by COVID-19, please inquire with your concierge for most up to date information.

Additional Info: Our House Manager lives locally in Isla Mujeres and will be the main point of contact to organize everything before and during your stay. Our on-site staff speak beginner level to little English, so if there are any communication difficulties, both the House Manager and Owner will be available to help answer questions or translate. We would also be happy to as suggest a translation app to download on your phone to utilize during your trip.

We now offer pre-prepared meals or meal delivery service rather than in house preparation, to adhere to social distancing standards. Lunch & Dinner include one main entrée selection and Soda (Coca Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite, Orange Fanta, Pepsi or Fresca). • Please be courteous that this service is in addition to our staff's daily cleaning tasks, so if you choose to add-on this service, this may affect the time cleaning begins. Meal services delivered to the home are available starting at 8 AM, and must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. A 50% deposit is required to book a meal, and all deposits and payments will be made directly with the House Manager. If you have a special request for a meal at the house besides what we currently offer on our menu, we are happy to hear your request and provide you with a quote.

Location

Our home is conveniently located mid-island on the Caribbean side, just off the main road behind Pizza Mike's restaurant. Our home is cozy and secluded from the downtown crowds, while at the same time having plentiful services within walking distance. Mango Café, Rosa Sirena and Caribbean Brisas are all popular restaurants within a block of the house. There is a small grocery store "Mini Super Ronco" and "Iron Abs Gym" at the bottom of our driveway, as well as multiple local eateries & local brewery "Isla Brewing" within a 2 minute walk. The most beautiful Catholic Church on the island "La Capilla de Guadalupe / The Guadalupe Chapel" is within one block from the house, where you can attend a service or just stop by for a stunning view overlooking the ocean.

More Information: We are a quick 10-minute golf cart or taxi ride north into town or a 10-minute ride south to the stunning views of the cliffs of Punta Sur (South Point). Punta Sur is the eastern most point of Mexico, making it the first part of the country to see the sunrise over the glistening bright blue water. Downtown you will find the public beaches Playa Centro and Playa Norte (North Beach), which have beautiful blue, calm waters. Also downtown you can explore Hidalgo, the pedestrian only street where there are ample restaurants, artisan shops, bars and more!

Mid-Island Perks Staying mid-island allows you to experience the island like a member of the local community, exploring the back roads and finding the best local cuisine hidden from the crowds.
