Some of the best parts of these expeditions happen far away from the crowded tourist spots.

This recent 3-day journey through the Chenes region, Rio Bec, and Bacalar was honestly special.
This group of friends decided to head out into the jungle together, and watching them experience the journey at their own pace was amazing. I was really lucky to be with them!

After hiking through remote ruins in the heat and exploring the jungle, nothing beats the feeling of finally slowing down, cooling off, and floating in the crystal-clear waters of Bacalar 🌿

That’s what I love most about private trips. No rushing, no crowded tour buses, and no tight schedules. Just real moments, great conversations, and a completely different way to experience Yucatan and Campeche.

Beyond the crowds, there’s a different way to experience the Maya world.

Day 3 of this expedition moved at a completely different rhythm.

We walked Ancient cities almost empty.
Jungle paths with barely another person around.
Time to stop, observe, ask questions and experience these places without rush.

And this time, after the heat, the hiking and the exploration, the perfect ending is floating in turquoise water in Bacalar!

That’s one of the things that makes these expeditions different.

Not just the places we visit — but the way we experience them.

Small groups.
Carefully chosen timing.
Less rushing.
More connection.

Beyond Chichén Itzá there is another Maya world.

Hidden entrances, jungle trails, monumental structures and places that most travelers — and even many locals — never get to see.

One of the biggest advantages of keeping these expeditions small is being able to move with the jungle instead of against it — starting early, slowing down during the strongest heat of the day and returning to exploration later in the afternoon.

This second day we combined monumental places like Becán with smaller hidden structures deep in the forest that most people would never randomly find on their own.

And honestly… one of the best parts of these expeditions is watching people discover they are capable of much more than they expected.

You do not need to be an extreme hiker or an archaeology expert.

You just need curiosity, good attitude and the desire to experience places that still feel alive.

Three days in the southern Maya region.

Heat, jungle trails, a lot of water, hidden structures and the kind of places that completely change your sense of scale.

One of the biggest achievements of this expedition was being able to coordinate routes and timing well enough to explore several monumental sites in a very short window — something that normally looks impossible on paper.

This is why we keep these expeditions small.

Less tourism.
More exploration.

🌿🏛️ Oculto entre la selva y lejos de las rutas turísticas tradicionales, el sitio arqueológico maya “El Tabasqueño” guarda el silencio de una antigua ciudad perdida.
Rodeado de naturaleza, ceibas y sonidos de la selva, este lugar conserva la esencia de la exploración real. 🔥🐾

Aquí no hay multitudes… solo el eco del pasado maya, estructuras cubiertas por vegetación y la sensación de descubrir algo que pocos conocen. 🌱

Un rincón poco explorado del Mundo Maya que todavía conserva ese espíritu de aventura auténtica. 👣

Nos acaba de sonar la alarma sísmica en Yucatán...



Me encanta que en Yucatán ya hagamos simulacros sísmicos.
Eso significa que oficialmente ya entramos al club de las preocupaciones nacionales 😌

Me encanta ver cómo el 5 de mayo se celebra fuera de México.
Margaritas, sombreros gigantes, fiesta… todo perfecto.

No lo veo como apropiación… lo veo como cultura que se expande.

Pero aquí es otra historia.
Aquí no.
Aquí es martes.
No es un día de fiesta.
Pasa casi desapercibido.
Si acaso, alguien dice algo sobre la batalla, luego nos quejamos del gobierno...
