Visita de la Emperatriz María Carlota Amelia Augusta Victoria Clementina Leopoldina a Mérida:
En Noviembre de 1865 la emperatriz de México María Carlota Amelia arribo por el puerto de Sisal en donde paso su primera noche en la Aduana del mismo puerto. Al día siguiente viaja a Hunucmá para seguir su camino hacia Mérida, donde se hospedo en la casa de Don Darío Galera, mejor conocida como la esquina del gallito. Continuo su camino hacia San Perdro Chimay, Uayalceh y posteriormente llega a la hacienda Mucuyche donde se dice que se le mostró el cenote que se encuentra dentro de esta hacienda, sin embargo, NO EXISTE NINGÚN DATO ETNOGRAFICO, ETNOHISTORICO O BIBLIOGRÁFICO DE QUE CONFIRME QUE SE HAYA BAÑADO EN DICHO CENOTE, como muchos lo cuentan. Continua su camino hacia Muna, Ticul y la zona arqueológica de Uxmal en donde dio un memorable discurso. Al día siguiente continua su trayecto hacia Calkiní, Hecechacan , Tenabo para finalmente llegar a la laguna de Términos en Campeche

Visit of Empress Maria Carlota Amelia Augusta Victoria Clementina to Mérida:

In November 1865, Empress Maria Carlota Amelia of Mexico arrived at the port of Sisal, where she spent her first night at the port's customs house. The following day, she traveled to Hunucma to continue her journey to Mérida, where she stayed at the home of Don Darío Galera, better known as "La Esquina del Gallito" (The Little Rooster Corner). She continued her journey to San Pedro Chimay, Uayalceh, and later arrived at the Mucuyche hacienda, where it is said she was shown the cenote located within the hacienda. However, there is no ethnographic, ethnohistorical, or bibliographical evidence to confirm that she bathed in the cenote, as many claim. He continued his journey to Muna, Ticul, and the Uxmal archaeological site, where he delivered a memorable speech. The following day, he continued his journey to Calkiní, Hecechacan, and Tenabo, finally arriving at Laguna de Términos.
