Mag Bay day 1 Quest for the Baqueta🎣

We were told about the Baqeuta during our fall Magdalena Bay trip. A large Grouper like fish that was very tasty. We made this special springtime trip to scout and to see if it was worth bringing clients.

We were not disappointed! Ken and Keith ended up with one each and I was lucky enough to catch 2. In other places they are caught very deep, 600-800 feet.

With Magdalena Bay being such an amazing fishery,
we were able to catch them at 150 feet. This meant they put up more of a fight and you weren’t just reeling up dead weight.
