Pink Mafia Confirms Positive Contributions to Community

Pink Mafia is committed to raising awareness of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two Spirit, Transgender and Gender Diverse Peoples.
Concerns have been raised regarding a community event planned for September 28, 2024. Pink Mafia would like to address these concerns.
The issue of MMIWG2S+ affects us all, it affects our families, friends and our communities.
Pink Mafia family is not untouched by this issue and sees this as an opportunity to raise awareness of MMIWG2S+, and a platform for advocates and artists to showcase their work in honor of MMIWG2S+.
Pink Mafia is collaborating with Indigenous Artists, Indigenous Drag Performers and Indigenous Trans Performers to highlight the importance of safety and coming together as a community to have conversations that can foster healing as we deconstruct colonial mindsets.
While Thunder Bay is a hub of the north, bringing together highways 11,17 and 61; there is a lack of accessible spaces for the 2SLGBTQIA++ to gather, perform and come together as a community.
The WestFort Bar is generously providing this space as an in-kind contribution to creating change for safety in the community.
By accepting this contribution, Pink Mafia will be able to donate directly to the families of MMIWG2S+ (Grocery, Wal-Mart gift cards etc)
When we stand together and truly confront important issues in our communities only then can we create change and create space for healing.
