Exactly one year ago, I was diagnosed with stage four Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
A tennis ball-sized tumor sat in the upper left lobe of my lung.
After a year-long battle…
21 intense chemo sessions.
25 days in hospital isolation for a bone marrow transplant.
I’ve won the fight.
I’m cancer-free.
Yesterday marked my rebirth.
My second chance at life.
I want to thank my amazing wife, partner, and rock—Angie.
She is the real hero.
Her love, light, patience, and strength inspired me to keep going.
Thank you, mi amor!
I love you infinitely, and I can’t wait to live the rest of our lives together.
To my parents, my brother, sister-in-law, and nephews—thank you for your endless support. You dropped everything and flew across oceans to help us carry the load.
Obrigado. תודה. I love you with all my heart.
To Angie’s family, who are now mine—thank you for embracing me with so much love.
I’m beyond grateful to be part of your family. I love you all.
To my Taco Mensch crew—thank you for growing this dream and keeping it alive during my hardest year. Gracias! To all of our amazing guests who have supported us throughout the year, thank you!
To our friends who became our lifeline,
To our CDMX community who showed up again and again—
To everyone who sent prayers, energy, messages, food and blood—You saved my life.
I can’t thank you enough. I love you all.
To God, my guardian angels, my ancestral teachers—thank you for lighting my way.
To my body, mind, and spirit—
I’m sorry I put you through this.
Thank you for your resilience.
You are a sanctuary. Treat yourself that way.
To those still fighting—you are warriors.
I see you. I pray for you. Keep going! You are an inspiration!
This is the first day of the rest of my life.
Leave room for magic and don’t forget to count your blessings again.
Pura vida,
Avidan
