Another Central Europe journey is underway! ✨

Led by Rabbi Tom Gutherz, Congregation Beth Israel (CBI) has begun exploring the Jewish history, culture, and traditions of Hungary and Slovakia.

Their time in Budapest and Bratislava has already included visits to the Dohány Street Synagogue, local Jewish communities, and a memorable evening on a Danube river cruise. The journey continues toward Prague, with many more meaningful experiences ahead.

Our Romania journey is underway! 🇷🇴✨

Led by Prof. Yale Strom and Elizabeth Schwartz, our group has begun exploring the Jewish history, culture, and music of Romania.

Their time in Bucharest has already included beautiful moments at the Coral Synagogue, Great Synagogue, and many more amazing attractions. Today, the journey continues toward Iași, the spiritual cradle of Yiddish theatre.

Chicago’s Congregation Beth Shalom , led by Cantor Stoehr, explored the heart of Eastern Europe—standing in the synagogues of Prague, walking the historic streets of the Old Town, and reflecting at the powerful gates of Auschwitz-Birkenau. Truly an unforgettable experience.
