Fun facts about Westminster Abbey in London 🇬🇧 🏰
1 .- Westminster Abbey has been the site of every royal coronation since 1066. Every English and British monarch since William the Conqueror has been crowned at the abbey (except those who were never formally crowned).
2.- The concept of Westminster Abbey as Britain's Valhalla is not new; After all, in Norse mythology Valhalla is the resting place of those dead warriors. Of course, to be buried in Westminster Abbey you do not need to have been a warrior, but you do need to be of royal blood or have made a great contribution to British sciences, arts or politics.
3.- Westminster Abbey has celebrated a good number of royal weddings over the years, among others that of Prince William with Kate Middleton in 2011. They were the first to consider the Abbey as the ideal place to say "I do".
