NEW AIRPORT TERMINAL PROJECT IN PUERTO VALLARTA , MEXICO

The new Terminal 2 at Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR) is a massive expansion expected to open in 2026, significantly increasing the airport's capacity to handle millions of passengers annually. The terminal is designed for sustainability, incorporating solar panels and water management systems, and will feature modern technology for a better passenger experience.

Capacity:

The new terminal will increase the airport's capacity to over 8 million passengers annually and potentially up to 14 million, positioning it among the top airports in Mexico.

Size:

The project includes adding over 957,000 square feet of infrastructure, significantly expanding the airport's operational area.
Connectivity: It will feature upgraded facilities, including a greater number of jet bridges and remote boarding gates to improve efficiency.

Sustainability:

The terminal is designed with sustainability in mind, aiming to achieve LEED Gold Certification and potentially becoming NET Zero.
Technology: Advanced check-in, security, and immigration processes will be implemented to enhance the passenger journey.

Construction Began: Late 2022.
Opening: The terminal is expected to open gradually in 2025, with full operational status by the end of 2026.
Completion Rate: As of late 2025, the project was more than halfway complete.
