We are back at working with our corals. Last week we were out with a group of volunteers from and to do some maintenance on the reef. We wish this wasn't needed, but we recently found the corals stressed and bleaching.
They still need out help. We had found them in great shape after the lockdown and growing at a fast rate, but after the summer things changed. The algae are overtaking some of them and the risk of deseases is high. Summer months are the most difficult ones for corals due to the higher water temperature that favor the algae growth.
The maintenance included cleaning, cutting off the dead and deseases parts of the corals, reattaching the fragment on the reef. We hope it helps and the corals will start to recover with the colder months 🤞💙
