IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR SPRING BREAK & SEMANA SANTA 2021 PROTOCOLS!
SPRING BREAK FEB. 26TH - MARCH 14TH AND THEN
SEMANA SANTA MARCH 29TH - APRIL 4TH
ALL CITY AND STATE HEALTH PROTOCOLS WILL BE ENFORCED!!

COVID-19 info:
*Curfew is from 12am to 6am Monday -Thursday
and Friday thru Sunday 1am-6am.
-AFTER Spring Break and AFTER Semana Santa the curfew hrs. go back to normal from 11pm-6am,
No music groups, bandas, mariachi, etc allowed in the recreational area of the Malecon, Calle 13, or the beach. However they will be allowed in restaurants, bars and homes.
Malecon hours are from 7am - 11pm.
*Wearing a mask is mandatory in the State of Sonora 😷 *And wearing a mask inside the car for 2 or more people is now mandatory.
*Beaches are open from 8am to 7pm
please NO GLASS BOTTLES AT THE BEACH.🏖 PLEASE PICK UP YOUR TRASH. NO CAMPFIRES, AND PETS MUST BE ON A LEASH. NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES. NO FIREWORKS. NO MUSIC GROUPS, OR BANDAS.
Drive straight thru Sonoyta, please do not stop during Covid...SPEED LIMIT IS 40KM (25mph)
Borders (MX & U.S.) closes at 8pm
The Lukeville Border and Sonoyta Aduana are open everyday from 6am -8pm.
The border is NOT closed, but has been restricted to essential travel since March 2020. Tourism is essential to RP so U.S. Citizens can travel into Mexico and back. (Mexican Nationals and Canadians cannot cross into the U.S. unless it's by airplane or the supervisor at the Port of entry deems your travel essential. Visit https://www.cbp.gov/

Please remember to get Mexico car insurance - it IS the Law! Mexico Insurance Center
Essential businesses such as pharmacies are open 24/7. Commercial stores/markets - only one family member may enter the establishment. No children under 12. Also, some of the businesses do take your temperature at their door, as well as have you step on a wet sanitary mat and issue hand sanitizer - please be patient and understand that businesses are following city protocols.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO DRIVE "VERY SLOW THRU SONOYTA. SPEED LIMIT IS 40KM (25 MPH) and in some areas it drops down to 20KM (12 MPH). Watch for the posted signs!
Please! pay all fines at the POLICE STATION!
Speed limits in Peñasco for the main Blvds. are between 40 and 60 KM, please drive carefully, do full stops at stop signs.
Beginning Jan. 26, 2021 international travelers by PLANE bound for the United States must show negative coronavirus test results before boarding their flights. (again this is only for air travel).
