Collared Towhee – Rascador de Collar (Pipilo ocai).

Native to the highlands of Mexico, the Collared Towhee is a distinctive endemic that inhabits pine-oak and montane forests. It spends much of its time foraging on the ground, searching for seeds and insects among fallen leaves. Despite its striking appearance, it often remains hidden.

Endemic of the Week

Blue Mockingbird - Mulato Azul (Melanotis caerulescens).

Brilliant blue plumage, striking red eyes, and a remarkable talent for mimicking other birds make the Blue Mockingbird one of Mexico's most fascinating songbirds. Although often heard before it is seen, this shy species usually remains hidden in dense vegetation, rewarding only the most patient birders when it finally steps into view.

The Yellow-breasted Crake.

Polluela Pecho Amarillo (Hapalocrex flaviventer).
