๐จ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ป๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ - For this trip we used AMStar DMC Mexico (Amstar) booked through CheapCaribbean vacation packages. They were expecting our arrival and we had a quick wait before the drive to the resort. A good experience both ways as they were on time headed back. It is a good 30-40 minutes to this location without making other stops.
๐จ๐๐๐๐๐๐ - We chose to stay in the adults only Platinum Yucatan that gave us access to the other resorts (like the Grand Riviera Princess). Like a giant quad of resorts. Some family, some adult. A private snack center in the lobby and upgraded alcohol in a private bar were some of the amenities. We were greeted with a cool towel, champagne (or water) and a seat at one of the check in agent desks. Make sure to have your passport, a credit card for incidentals and copies of your vacation package printed out. It makes check-in a breeze
๐น๐๐๐ - The room was nice and we chose the Platinum Deluxe room type. No swimout chosen (there are some availabe), just a garden view that really looked at a bunch of very close trees. The pictures show the room had nice amenities upon arrival ( a beach bag, some liquor, and cookies) and came with water, beer and soft drinks stocked daily.
๐ท๐๐๐๐ - The main pool at this report was just tiny and so quiet. No excitement. It is made for those that want to be away from kids and just relax and drink. See the pictures of this one!!
We normally walked next door to the party pool as it was. Foam parties, music, games and lively interaction with guests could be found there.
๐ซ๐๐๐๐๐ - We enjoyed most of the meals here. The buffet was decent but we had much better dinners at Aroma and Tao. The bars were well organized and the bartenders friendly and helpful. We always have mixed results at each place if they have certain liquors that are included or not. As you see in the pictures we are not above eating and trying everything and worked hard to test all the food for you.
๐บ๐๐๐๐ - The staff was nice here. Everyone was helpful and willing to assist always. We never had a problem with service or anyone there. Always find your special one or two bartenders. Tip them well and watch magic happen. We do this at each resort.
๐ฌ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ - The entertainment was decent. You begin to notice a trend of the shows that come to the resorts. The theater was like a large meeting room with a stage. The dance show was the best. All the performers work hard and definitely try to make you enjoy yourself. The audience, reluctantly, in most places just sits there. We get excited.
The club, "la Salsa" was moderately sized and small groups of people gathered here. We seemed to have it mostly to ourselves at night letting us pick the music with the DJ,
๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ - HINT: walk to the right down the beach to a private roped area for your level of hotel status. The one right in front of the hotel was busy but the other was mainly empty!!
The beach here was nice and well maintained and large. Mainly due to the four resorts in one.. They tried hard to keep the seaweed down. The beach areas offered plenty of chairs and shade. The animals that stay in the bushes and trees near the beach (need to get their name) were not to be fed but since everyone did they freely ran around the food areas looking for snacks.
๐ฌ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ - We stayed away from the excursions on this trip and focused on dining, the pool daily and the beach a couple times. There were plenty of options as always being so close to Cancun.
๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฌ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ - This is a great priced and go back to again place. The ability to jump between resorts to dine and swim make it a no-brainer. Enjoy the quiet of the adult side, party at the other side, swim with the 5 star side and explore the long beach. We always look at this as an option or escape in case we hate where we go to review next. Seriously...
