¿Cuál ha sido tu momento favorito en Oaxaca conmigo?
Maybe it was a rooftop conversation, a mezcal shared at sunset, or the quiet awe inside a church full of gold. Whatever it was, I want to honor it today—because this moment marks six full years since I began guiding in Oaxaca. I’m now stepping into my seventh year, and that feels both sacred and surreal.
En 2019 regresé a Oaxaca después de muchos años lejos. Llegué con una maleta, pocas certezas y el corazón lleno de preguntas. Estaba comenzando de nuevo, sin red, sin muchos conocidos, pero con una necesidad real de reconectar con mis raíces y con mi propia voz. No sabía que ese regreso marcaría un antes y un después en mi vida.
Throughout these years, I’ve guided with my heart wide open—learning not only about Oaxaca’s deep cultural heritage, but about the beautiful, brave, and curious people who visit it. You’ve brought your stories, your questions, your presence. And together, we’ve built something real.
He transitado momentos luminosos y también otros oscuros. Pero incluso en esos días, hubo. Hubo quien tendió la mano, quien preguntó con cariño, quien regresó, quien creyó. Por eso, hoy más que nunca, quiero decir: gracias.
Being a q***r Guide in Oaxaca has taught me that we don’t need to pretend we have it all figured out. We just need to show up with honesty, curiosity and care. This journey is about creating bridges—between cultures, between stories, between human hearts.
