Rain Recap – Baja Sur Edition (Still Not Cabo!)

While Cabo San Lucas has been sitting high and dry—unless you count humidity so thick you could swim through it! Other parts of Baja California Sur have been getting properly soaked. Yesterday it poured in “La Laguna,” and the rain shower continues today in several areas.

Meanwhile, here in Cabo, we’ve just had front-row seats to thunder and dramatic clouds to the north. No rain. Just... humidity. 🌡️

Here’s a quick look at rainfall totals reported yesterday across the region (converted to inches for those of us still using the imperial system):

⚡️ That lightning show yesterday morning? Happened along the Gulf of California coastline near Los Cabos.

☔️ Rainfall totals:
⚠️⛈️ Punta Cardón – El Encanto de La Laguna: 0.77"
⛈️ El Rincón – La Playita SJD: 0.25"
⛈️ Buenavista: 0.15"
🌦 Punta Colorada: 0.12"
🌦 Zacatitos: 0.08"
🌦 El Ranchito: 0.05"
🌦 Cabo Pulmo: 0.04"
🌦 La Ribera: 0.01"

Other places like Santiago got hit hard too, but there’s no official rain data thanks to missing stations and gauges.

Today is Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park’s 3️⃣0️⃣th anniversary!!
🐟🐡🪼🐚🦀🦈🐠🤿🐬🐙🐋🦑🌊
To this day, Cabo Pulmo is a shining example of successful marine conservation. Many thanks to the local community & Mexican government.

World Wildlife Day
3-3-2025
Seeing wildlife is the best part of our excursions! 👀🐠🐋🐢🐬🐍🐡🐦‍⬛🐟🦎🦋

On March 3, we join the global community in celebrating World Wildlife Day — a day to raise awareness about endangered species and the urgent need for conservation efforts. This day marks the anniversary of the signing of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), a key international agreement aimed at protecting wildlife from illegal trade.

At SEE Turtles, we are committed to protecting endangered sea turtles and their habitats. These marine reptiles face numerous threats, from climate change to illegal hunting, and their survival depends on the actions we take today.

Here’s how YOU can make a difference:
*Support sustainable practices and eco-friendly products
*Get involved in local conservation efforts, (better yet, join a SEE Turtles conservation trip)
*Educate others about the importance of wildlife protection
*Reduce your carbon footprint to fight climate change
