The beauty of its green plumage, earned the emerald hummingbird that name and being cataloged as "the jewel of Cozumel"; It is an endemic species of the island that measures only six centimeters but is vital for pollination.

The Emerald hummingbird is a jewel, an emblematic species for the island and for the world: "people who know and value the sighting come to know it. The Green Iguana (iguana iguana)

Green iguanas live in the Central American region, from Veracruz (Mexico) to the Tropic of Capricorn in Paraguay and southeast Brazil. This "giant" lizard also inhabits numerous islands in the Caribbean region such as the Caribbean islands, and on the east coast of the Pacific.

The habitat of green iguanas is characterized by high temperatures, they choose the highest branches of trees to be in a sunny place; change color according to where they live there are greens and browns
They reach between 1.5 to 2 meters, they lay between 10 to 30 eggs their gestation is between 84 and 99 days later the female looks for a safe place where the young will be born and the young will have to survive on their own They are herbivores that feed on leaves, fruits and shoots of plants.
In Cozumel it is common to see them in the jungle and in public gardens.
