What do you think? _Has_ mezcal become too big for its own good?

If mezcal is now the cooler cousin of tequila, does it potentially hurt the category if too many big players jump in and throw their muscle around?

*refrescadera - the steel jacket that encloses the bell shaped cap of the alembic still and is filled with cool water, which during distillation causes reflux and functions as a secondary distillation. Mezcals made with refrescadera are typically single distillations since since alcohol by volume can easily get up to and even over 60%.
