Hi friends! I’m Mikaela, founder of Evolve Retreats. Movement has always been my way of connecting to my inner wisdom. I graduated with 250hrs of Yoga training.

I guide meaningful experiences for those seeking clarity, inspiration and a reawakening of joy on their path of self-discovery. My dedicated practice of yoga, both on and off the mat, has been life-altering and continues to evolve as I do! I have an extra 100hrs in Yin Yoga and Myofascial release. I have been teaching for a decade now, and have taught at multiple studios in Vancouver, BC (Yyoga, S

emperviva, Jaybird, and Lagree West - megaformer/ pilates inspired) as well as here, online! I lead corporate yoga/mindfulness events and I am the founder of EVOLVE Retreats.

We are heading back to Costa Rica | January 21–26, 2027!

I may sound like a broken record here, but I’ll never stop celebrating everyone who has taken the leap and immersed themselves in an Evolve Yoga Retreat. And I’ll never stop speaking about how transformative these experiences are, because they’re rooted in the depth and many layers of yoga.

Inspired by the philosophy of living your yoga, these experiences invite us beyond asana (the movement practice) and deeper into the layers of our being.

A special friend and past retreat guest recently commented on one of my posts saying how grateful she is that these experiences still reach her to this day… and it brought the biggest smile to my face because I found myself nodding along thinking, yes, that’s exactly it. 💛

These retreats leave a lasting impact because of the care woven into every detail. The thoughtfully curated schedules, the daily themes, the guided conversations, the practices, and the ways we explore living our yoga throughout each day together. It becomes part of everything. The shared moments, the quiet moments alone, the way you return home. It leaves a mark.

Sharing some more heartfelt reflections in this post. I’m endlessly in awe of every single one of you, and I feel so grateful to keep sharing these experiences with more of you to come.

Dreaming of retreat days in Portugal 🇵🇹 !!

While the essence of these retreats goes far beyond any physical space, the environment we’re held in is deeply intentional. I seek out places that offer privacy (renting out the entire venue for our group!), quiet immersion in nature, and a sense of spaciousness and beauty. Spaces that support the unfolding of the experience itself.

This 1940s venue will hold us from September 25–30, and there are still a few spaces available! ✨

It can be hard for me to put these experiences into words. When I try, I find myself rambling because I’m flooded with the imprints and memories of every person who has been part of an Evolve Retreat… and maybe that’s the whole point. These experiences leave a mark. ✨

As Lauren shared, they change you. There are many reasons why, but what I take from her reflection is this: it’s the moments that shift us, wake us, crack us open, and guide us back to our inner rhythm and knowing… those are the ones worth following. 🌀
