Pozol is a very popular drink in Chiapas made with cacao (on thwe right side ) or hominy. (on the left side)
you can enjoy this delicious and healthy drink between 11:00 am and 1:30 pm in the street markets or with some women who sell it in the streets. it can be accompanied with tacos . or with mangos and some spiciness.

about 40 minuts from Tuxtla, you can find a beautiful city called "Ocozocuautla" , also known by the inhabitants as "Coita", where you can find amazing places for ecotourism like :
*El aguacero (River)
*sima de las cotorras
*"la junta" (river)

"The City Museum of Tuxtla Gutiérrez", located in the center of the capital of Chiapas, is one of four buildings catalogued by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) like History and Artistic Monuments of this city.
Constructed between 1941 and 1942, in neocolonial style and there were added ornaments of different artistic currents, principally Arab and Mudejar Style. The INAH considered to the building of 'electric type"

"Cañón del sumidero" is a national park located in Chiapas, mexico but is shared between Tuxtla Gutierrez city, Chiapa de corzo and San fernando. (all these are located in Chiapas)
there you can hace a boat ride along the amazing canon . or you can just walk along the park and look the amazing fauna of Chiapas.
when you need a rest or eat something delicious, you can find some restaurants inside the park. it is great!

The name of Tuxtla Gutiérrez
As before the arrival of the Zoques, there was no pre Hispanic settlement at the site, the name "Coyatoc" refers to the valley area. Originally, this valley was called Coyatoc by the native Zoque population, which means “land or house of rabbits.” The Aztecs intruded into the area and named it "Tuchtlan" which means the same thing. “Gutiérrez” was added to the city's name in 1848 to honor Joaquín Miguel Gutiérrez, a Conservative politician according to a legend.

The Regional Museum of Anthropology and History of Chiapas (Museo Regional de Antropología e Historia de Chiapas) is the largest museum in Tuxtla Gutiérrez in Chiapas and one of the most important of its kind in Mexico. It primarily consists of two main halls with one dedicated to the state’s Mesoamerican archeology and the other to the history of the state starting from the Spanish conquest. The archeological display focus on the native Zoque and Mayan cities, and the historical displays extend in time until the early 20th century. In addition to its permanent collection, it also has a temporary exhibit hall and auditorium to host events such as book signings, summer classes, conferences and more.

The "Marimba Park" has become a meeting place and family destination for entertainment, due to the fact that every evening throughout the year you can listen and dance to the live music played on the most representative instrument of Chiapas: the Marimba.
The traditional melodies float out from the central kiosk , and accompany the public as they dance the traditional steps of Chiapas dances.
Adorned with beautiful gardens, this park is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful folkloric and cultural sites in the capital.
