Another trip to lovely Sulawesi, and I got to meet this absolute beauty again—one of my favorite birds in all of Indonesia! This time, we were lucky enough to catch it down low, spending a good amount of time feeding on a fruiting tree. The lighting was a bit challenging for photos, but everyone was thrilled just to get such a fantastic view.
再次来到美丽的苏拉威西，又见到了这只极其美丽的鸟类——这也是我在印度尼西亚最喜欢的鸟类之一！这次我们非常幸运，它栖息的位置很低，还在果树上停留了相当长的时间。虽然拍摄时的光线有些挑战，但能如此清晰地观赏到它，大家都感到非常开心。

On our very first afternoon right after stepping off the plane, we successfully spotted the Scaly-breasted Kingfisher and spent a great time birding with several small birds. Shortly after, we came across this cute little Sulawesi endemic. What a fantastic start to Day 1!

Its behavior is remarkably similar to our Malayan Black-capped Babbler, spending most of its time walking along the ground. However, its plumage is distinctly more rufous overall. We were fortunate enough to encounter and photograph this bird on multiple occasions during our East Bali bird photography trip.
它的习性与马来亚黑冠雅鹛非常相似，大部分时间都在地面行走觅食。不过，它的整体羽色更偏红棕色。在我们的东巴厘岛观鸟摄影之旅中，我们曾有幸在多个不同场合记录到这种鸟类。

It is one of the most common and beautiful birds we encountered, first spotted right after driving out of our hotel. The moment I laid eyes on it, I shouted “Motmot!”— mesmerized by its stunning racket-tail. Throughout our 18-day trip across Costa Rica, we were lucky enough to spot this species many more times.
这是我们此行最常见也最美丽的鸟类之一，刚开出酒店就迎面遇上了它。当我第一次看到它时，脱口而出喊着“䴕翠！”，那别致的双桨状尾羽真的太惊艳了。在为期18天的哥斯达黎加之旅中，我们有幸多次与𫫇氏䴕翠相遇。

Although this isn’t a lifer, it’s the very first time we’ve had the chance to photograph this bird from such a close and low angle. It looks remarkably similar to the Yellow-crowned Barbet. What a wonderful month—fruiting trees are everywhere, making it easy to spot all the barbets of Bali. But this time, this Yellow-eared Barbet came exceptionally low and close to us.
虽然这不是加新鸟种，但这是我们第一次如此近距离、低角度地拍摄到这种鸟。它看起来和黄顶拟啄木鸟非常相似。真是美好的一月，到处都是结果的树木，让我们很容易就能收集到巴厘岛所有的拟啄木鸟。不过这一次，这只黄耳拟啄木鸟离我们特别近，位置也很低。

Another lucky day in the field. Right after the heavy rain stopped, we headed out to search for this special Bornean endemic. It wasn’t a long walk at all before we landed incredible views. We were even able to slip back to the vehicle, grab the camera, and get close enough to secure some fantastic shots.
又是幸运的一天。大雨过后，我们便出发寻找这种特殊的婆罗洲特有种鸟类。没走多远，我们就获得了绝佳的观赏视野，甚至还能返回车里拿取相机，再次靠近拍到了一些很棒的照片。

As one of the most common, tiny, and highly active birds in the montane forests, this little one often shows up right alongside a mixed-species foraging flock (bird wave). While they might venture quite close to you, getting a clean, sharp photograph of them is a massive challenge.

It’s a rare treat when this bird comes down so low, especially without a fruiting tree nearby to draw it in. This time, luck was on our side and it stayed long enough for some incredible, clear shots!

An incredible morning out in the field! A small bird flock descended low enough for us to capture some wonderful shots, including this lovely male leafbird.
Their brilliant emerald plumage provides exceptional camouflage deep within the canopy. While the male sports a distinct black face mask, the female does not. Interestingly, when it comes to distinguishing between the Greater Green Leafbird and the Lesser Green Leafbird, identifying the females is actually much easier.
这是一个美好的早晨，一小群鸟儿低飞俯冲，为我们提供了绝佳的拍摄机会，其中包括这只十分迷人的雄性叶鹎。
它们鲜艳的翠绿色羽毛在茂密的树冠中形成了极佳的伪装。雄鸟带有显著的黑色面罩，而雌鸟则没有。不过，若要分辨大绿叶鹎与小绿叶鹎，通过观察雌鸟其实更容易进行识别。
