YB JOSEPH NGโS INITIATIVE SPOTLIGHTS AIR ITAM THROUGH SPECIAL
FEATURE IN iNPENANG MAGAZINE

An initiative by YB Joseph Ng Soon Siang, State Assemblyman for Air Itam, to showcase the townshipโs unique attractions, heritage and community life has culminated in a special destination feature in the latest edition of iNPenang Magazine.
Titled โAir Itamโ, the feature was developed in collaboration with iNPenang Magazine as part of ongoing efforts to promote greater awareness of Air Itam as a destination where culture, cuisine, community and nature come together in a uniquely Penang experience. While Air Itam is widely recognised for landmarks such as Kek Lok Si Temple and its famous local food, the township offers much more than many visitors realise. From the bustling Air
Itam Market and long-established neighbourhoods to the Air Itam Dam, Penang Hill and the UNESCO-recognised Penang Hill Biosphere Reserve, the area presents a diverse range of experiences within a compact and accessible setting.
The initiative was conceived by YB Joseph Ng as part of his broader efforts to promote Air Itamโs identity and encourage visitors to explore the township beyond its best-known landmarks.
Through the partnership with iNPenang Magazine, the feature brings together Air Itamโs many attractions and experiences in a single platform for both local and international readers.YB Joseph Ng said the initiative aims to help visitors gain a deeper appreciation of the township and the role it plays within Penangโs cultural and community landscape. โAir Itam has so much more to offer than many people realise. This initiative was conceived to showcase the township more comprehensively and to encourage visitors to spend more time exploring its heritage, food culture, community spaces and natural attractions. The special feature highlights a range of experiences that allow visitors to discover Air Itam at a more leisurely pace. Apart from visiting individual attractions, travellers can plan a full day exploring local markets, heritage sites, traditional eateries, recreational spaces and naturebased attractions before enjoying sunset views from Penang Hill. Those who choose to stay longer can experience the townshipโs vibrant morning atmosphere through its market culture and neighbourhood life.
