Sometimes being a homestay owner means wearing many hats. 🛠️🏡

For our G1 room, I felt the existing table wasn’t big enough for guests who needed a comfortable space to work, study, or simply enjoy their stay.

So instead of buying one, I decided to build it myself.

From designing, measuring, cutting, sanding, and installation, right down to the lighting setup — every step was done by hand. There were definitely moments when I questioned why I started, especially after hours of dust, sweat, and trial-and-error. 😅

But seeing the final result come together makes it all worthwhile.

Running a homestay isn't always about the rooms people see online. Sometimes it's the small improvements behind the scenes that create a better experience for every guest.

Whether you're planning a family dinner, a supper session with friends, or simply looking for your next food adventure, this is definitely a place worth visiting.

Just one tip:
Come with an empty stomach, because you'll probably want to try more than one stall! 🤤

🍖 Sometimes the best food discoveries are the ones closest to our homestay

A newly opened Cantonese BBQ restaurant has just arrived in Sg Long, located behind Public Bank. 📍

For guests staying at D Cloud Homestay, it's only 1.8km away — less than 5 minutes' drive. Perfect when you're looking for a convenient lunch or dinner nearby. 🚗

The restaurant is beautifully designed, with two shop lots combined into a spacious and comfortable dining area. The environment feels modern, clean, and great for family gatherings. ✨

We brought the whole family （6pax） over to try it, and our total bill came to RM121.40. Considering the portions, atmosphere, and overall dining experience, I think the pricing is quite reasonable. 👍

One important note: This is a non-halal restaurant, so it may not be suitable for our Muslim friends.

Overall, it's a nice new addition to the Sg Long food scene and worth checking out if you're a fan of Cantonese-style roast meats. 😋

🔥 New Food Spot in Sg Long!

We recently tried Guang Shi Yan Huo Charcoal Roasted BBQ (广式烟火·炭火烧腊), a newly opened restaurant located just behind Public Bank. 📍

The first thing that caught our attention was the ambience. Two shop lots combined into one spacious dining area, modern interior, comfortable seating, and a very welcoming atmosphere for family meals. ✨

Of course, the highlight is the roasted meats. The sight of roasted duck, char siew, and crispy roast pork hanging at the roasting station instantly brought back that authentic Cantonese BBQ vibe. 🔥

Our family of six spent RM121.40 for the meal, and honestly, we felt the pricing was quite reasonable considering the food, environment, and overall dining experience. 👍

If you're around Sg Long and looking for a new place to try, this might be worth adding to your list.
