Description: A wilder, less common species found in Malaysia, often harvested from forests.Fruit: Smaller than D. zibethinus, featuring long, dark green thorns that can curl at the tips.Flesh (Aril): Varies from pale yellow to a deep, vibrant yellow, similar in texture to a "kampung" (traditional) durian.Aroma & Taste: Strong aroma often described as having an intense acetone, alcoholic, or woody note combined with a sweet flavor. It is sometimes described as less complex than D. zibethinus but highly prized for its unique forest flavor.Hybrids: D. lowianus can hybridize with D. zibethinus, resulting in natural hybrids that mix characteristics of both.
