Sir David first visited Borneo in 1956, just as he was turning 30 years old. Nearly 70 years later, he has returned many times to document the island’s extraordinary wildlife, from Kinabatangan and Sepilok to the rainforests of Sarawak.

He once described Borneo as “one of the richest treasure-houses” on Earth, and through his storytelling, helped the world see why.

Over the decades, Sir David has also remained a passionate advocate and champion for the protection of Borneo’s rainforests and wildlife habitats.
