Cherry blossom in Japan is expected to bloom earlier this spring, and the earliest blooming may be seen in Tokyo on March 21.

Weather News announced that cherry blossom is expected to bloom nationwide earlier than usual. The earliest blooming is seen in Tokyo on March 21, followed by Fukuoka, Kochi, Hiroshima or Yokohama on March 22, western and eastern Japan in late March, southern part of Tohoku in early April and Hokkaido in late April.

In Hokkaido, blooming will begin in Hakodate on April 22 and spread in entire Hokkaido by early May.

The Iranun people predominantly reside in Kota Belud and Kudat, Sabah. Their traditional costumes and language share similarities with the Bajau. Historically, the Iranun were formidable sailors who, in the 1870s, challenged Western superpowers like the British and Spanish across the South China Sea, Sulu Sea, and Celebes Sea. Their prowess at sea led the British to label them as pirates.

Iranun women are highly skilled weavers, producing some of Sabah’s most iconic and exquisite traditional fabrics, such as the dastar cloth, used for traditional male headdresses. A standout technique is their Sambitan weaving, which creates reversible fabrics where both sides can be worn. These textiles are an integral part of Sabah’s cultural heritage, earning recognition both nationally and internationally.
