• Borneo is home to over 30 species of raptors, including eagles, hawks, kites, falcons, and owls.
• Iconic species include the Crested Serpent Eagle, White-bellied Sea Eagle, Changeable Hawk-Eagle, and Brahminy Kite.
• Raptors sit at the top of the food chain, making them vital indicators of rainforest health.
• Their presence signals a balanced ecosystem — where forests, prey species, and waterways remain intact.
• Birds of prey help control populations of rodents, reptiles, and other small animals, preventing ecological imbalance.

Meet Borneo’s leaf-loving acrobats 🐒 From fiery-orange baby silvered langurs to the island’s very own maroon langurs, these gentle monkeys keep the rainforest alive and thriving.

🐒 Maroon Langur (Red Leaf Monkey)

Found only in Borneo — Where to see them? Danum Valley, Tabin Wildlife, Maliau Basin.

Their red-maroon coats glow against the emerald jungle.

🐒 Silvered Langur

Baby silvered langurs are born bright orange 🧡 — like little forest fireballs!

Known as the "shy cousins" of proboscis monkeys, they prefer the treetops.

Where to see them? Kinabatangan, Bako National Park, Labuk Bay.
