Meet the Buff-rumped Woodpecker, a tiny yet striking bird of Borneo’s lowland forests! 🌿🔎

This charming woodpecker is often seen foraging in pairs, exploring thin branches and bark crevices in search of food.

Males such as this handsome gentlebird in the photo, sport a subtle red “moustache” stripe, adding to their unique look.

The Collared Kingfisher is a medium-sized kingfisher with diverse plumage variations, with nearly 50 subspecies identified globally. All share key features, including a greenish-blue crown, a white spot above the lores, a black mask that extends into a thin band across the hindneck, and a distinct white collar.

Commonly found in mangroves and tidal creeks but can also be seen in other environments, such as coconut plantations on islands.
