Listen closely… can you hear the rainforest calling? 🌿🐒

A gibbon calling from the treetops of Danum Valley — one of those sounds that makes you stop, look up, and realise just how wild Borneo really is.

Turn your sound on. 🔊

You Never Know What’s Around the Next Bend… 🐘

A peaceful stretch of river can turn into an unforgettable wildlife moment.

Today’s surprise? A Borneo pygmy elephant cooling off and enjoying a bath in the Kinabatangan River. 🌿💦

That’s the beauty of wildlife watching — you never quite know what the river has waiting for you.

🦧 Orangutans everywhere, seriously!

On the trails? ✅
At the lodge? ✅
Up at the wildlife observation tower? ✅
Peeking from chalet balconies? …Apparently, they know where the best views are too!

It’s fruiting season at Hornbill Lodge, which means our favourite neighbours have been dropping by almost daily for a feast. 🍈🧡

Add great weather to the mix and… why not come say hello? 🌴🦧

🔊 Turn your volume up. 🦧

This is one of the many sounds you might hear while exploring Borneo’s rainforest.

We were lucky enough to witness this orangutan at the Hornbill Lodge viewing point, just a short walk from the lodge. Moments like these remind us that incredible wildlife encounters can happen when you least expect them.

Nature has its own soundtrack—and it’s unforgettable. 🌿

Bird of the Day: White-crowned Hornbill

One of Borneo’s most elegant and elusive hornbills, the White-crowned Hornbill is instantly recognizable by its striking shaggy white crest and long pale tail. Preferring pristine rainforest, this beautiful species is a true indicator of healthy forest ecosystems.

Spotting one in the wild is always a special moment—and a reminder of why protecting Borneo’s rainforests matters.

📍 Have you ever been lucky enough to see this magnificent hornbill?
