Quiet Encounters on the Trails of Desaru Coast 🌿🪶

A morning spent birdwatching is all about patience and rewarding moments. Here are a few beautiful species spotted during our trail:

✨ The bright, lively Olive-backed Sunbird (Cinnyris jugularis) peeking through the canopy.
✨ A graceful Green Pigeon resting high up on a bare branch.
✨ A small flock of Lesser Whistling Ducks (Dendrocygna javanica) gliding peacefully across the water.

The White-throated Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis) is one of Malaysia’s most striking birds, easily recognised by its brilliant blue wings, rich chestnut body, and bright white throat. Despite its name, this adaptable hunter can be found far beyond rivers and lakes, thriving in mangroves, forests, farmlands, and even urban areas.

With its sharp eyesight and powerful beak, it feeds on fish, crabs, insects, lizards, and small mammals, making it a true all-round predator of the natural world. 🐦✨

On 24 June 2026, we had the pleasure of facilitating a memorable team-building programme for the amazing team at Hilton Burau Bay Langkawi.

This programme was proudly conducted by Junglewalla in collaboration with Alazat—a wonderful community that empowers special needs individuals and single mothers through handcrafted products and meaningful experiences. Participants had the opportunity to enjoy hands-on activities such as rattan weaving, coconut-based soap scrub making, fridge magnet crafting, and more, while supporting a community-driven social enterprise.

A heartfelt thank you to Hilton Burau Bay Langkawi for placing your trust in us. It was a day filled with laughter, teamwork, creativity, and unforgettable memories.
