During the Japanese occupation of Malaya, many elders relied on this humble root when rice became scarce.

🍠 Boiled, mashed, or turned into simple kuih, this 'magic plant' filled empty stomachs and carried generations through hard times.

Across Southeast Asia, cassava became a symbol of resilience, resourcefulness, and cultural memory.

Today, it's still loved as street food, snacks, and desserts across the region.

💬 Have you ever eaten cassava in your country? What's your favourite version?

Bathed in blue mist and city lights, Masjid Jamek stands gracefully at the confluence of two rivers, just as it has since 1909. One of the oldest mosques in the city, it was designed by British architect A.B. Hubback, inspired by Mughal architecture from India.

📍Located where the Klang and Gombak Rivers meet, this mosque once served as the city’s main place of worship before Masjid Negara was built.

Now, as night falls, the surrounding River of Life light show transforms the area into pure magic. You’ll hear the splash of fountains, see the glow of neon reflections, and feel time standing still.

📸 Have you ever seen this spot in person? It’s even more magical up close!

Here's your dose of wow today! Two young warriors gracefully performing Pencak Silat, a traditional martial art deeply rooted in Southeast Asian heritage. 🥋

More than just self-defense, Penak Silat is an art form: blending movement, music, rhythm, and even storytelling. It's where discipline meets tradition and spirit meets strengh.

🌿 Recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, Pencak Silat teaches more than techniques. It teaches values.

Can you believe they're this young and already preserving culture with every move?

Southeast Asia Heritage

Southeast Asia Heritage is a platform that promotes cultural heritage across the region under the themes of Old Town, Originality of Food, UNESCO, Rainforest, Island, Spiritual and Traditional Trade (T.O.U.R.I.S.T).

In every journey, we emphasize that H.O.P.E becomes the axis where we are going to associate and engage more with communities in every events, activities, workshop and even courses conducted. H.O.P.E is an abbreviation of ’Heritage’, ‘Origin’, ‘Preservation’ and ‘Education’.

We highlighted the word ‘Heritage’ as not only concerning on the identification, management and protection of the heritage values but it must involved in understanding the impact of tourism on communities and regions, achieving economic and social benefits, providing financial resources for protection, as well as marketing and promotion

Meanwhile, ‘Origin’ refers to the origin of historical equipment or places with a special value. It is important to protect the historical properties for their aesthetic value, emotional experience and all that leads to personal growth and development.
