Mochi lovers, did you know Malaysia and Taiwan have totally different takes on this chewy treat? 🍡👀

In Malaysia, we call it Mua Chee #麻糍 —a humble, street snack made with soft, glutinous rice dough, cut into small bite-sized pieces and tossed in fragrant crushed peanuts and sugar, sometimes with a touch of sesame. Simple, nostalgic, and oh-so-addictive! 💛

Over in Taiwan, Mochi #麻薯 comes in all kinds of flavours and fillings! You’ll find it stuffed with red bean, peanut, black sesame, taro, or even ice cream 🍦—and served warm, cold, grilled, or chilled! Taiwanese mochi is often softer, smoother, and sometimes has a stretchy bounce!
