Malta wants more Asians to discover its many vibrant layers

Qatar Airways will recommence flights to Malta this July with a four-times-weekly connection between Doha’s Hamad International Airport and Malta International Airport.

UK to require digital entry permits for travellers

LONDON: Travellers to the United Kingdom can apply for the new electronic travel authorisation (ETA) beginning Wednesday, a requirement set to become mandatory from April 2, reported German news agency dpa.

From this date onwards, a passport alone will no longer be sufficient for entry into the UK.

Thailand Welcomes 29 Million Tourists, Expects More As High Season Kicks In

BANGKOK, Nov 5 (Bernama) -- Thailand has welcomed more than 29.08 million foreign tourists, generating approximately 1.358 trillion baht in revenue from January 1 to November 3 this year.

According to statistics from the Tourism and Sports Ministry, Chinese tourists topped the list of arrivals with over 5.75 million, followed by tourists from Malaysia (4.18 million), India (1.72 million), South Korea (1.53 million), and Russia (1.3 million) during the period.

24-Hour LHDN, insolvency counters at KLIA mooted

KUALA LUMPUR: A government backbencher has urged the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) and the insolvency department to set up 24-hour counters at KLIA Terminals 1 and 2 to provide assistance to individuals barred from leaving the country for failing to pay their taxes.

M Saravanan said many people are unaware of their tax arrears and face travel restrictions after making plans to travel abroad. “If this issue arises during office hours, then they can usually resolve it. However, many encounter these problems at night and are unable to contact the relevant officers.

“Therefore, I suggest the government or these agencies set up 24-hour counters at KLIA Terminals 1 and 2,” he told the Dewan Rakyat when debating the Supply Bill 2025.

More than 61,000 flight delays between January and August

KUALA LUMPUR: Between January and August this year, a total of 61,014 out of 258,116 flights operated by local airlines were delayed, representing 24 per cent, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.

Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah said of these, 55,024 flights were delayed for less than two hours from the scheduled departure time, while the remaining flights were delayed for more than two hours.

All Passengers travelling on flights to, from or via Dubai are prohibited from transporting pagers and walkie talkies in checked or cabin baggage. Such items found in passengers' hand luggage or checked baggage will be confiscated by Dubai Police.

Additionally, Whisper Set may be considered as walkie talkies, and may be confiscated by the screening authorities at Dubai Airport.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines Bhd will resume flights to Europe from here starting 2025 after axing all European routes except London in its network nearly a decade ago.

Business Times learnt that the national carrier is likely to introduce three destinations namely Paris, Milan and Madrid with France's capital possibly being the first out of the three routes to be serviced next year.

KLIA Aerotrain services set to resume in Jan 2025

PETALING JAYA: The Kuala Lumpur International Airport aerotrains are set to resume in January 2025, says Transport Minister Anthony Loke. He added on Monday (Sept 2) that until then, the KLIA feeder bus service will continue as an option for passengers.

New air route to link Nanjing and Kuala Lumpur
