Semenggoh Wildlife Centre is the most famous orangutan rehabilitation center in Sarawak. It is located approximately 20–24 km from Kuching city, within the Semenggoh Nature Reserve. The center was established in 1975 to care for injured, orphaned, or illegally kept wild animals before rehabilitating and releasing them back into their natural habitat.
