Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) in aligning with their agenda of responsible tourism is taking a step forward towards sustainability to reduce, reuse and recycle waste at RWMF2019. So at this year’s Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF2019), STB is calling all localcommunities to join hands to address this matter in their project called, . Members of the public are invited to unleash your creativity in designing (Urban + Bins).
By using such creative approach to draw attentions towards the festival’s recycling bins, STB hope that thismove will encourage people to segregate their trash and recycle it, besides creating a clean, decent and beautiful environment to the local community and inspire the public to continue their support towards spirit even after the event.
To participate in design, follow these simple steps:
1. Submissions must creatively incorporate the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 11: “Sustainable Cities & Communities” into their design and storytelling.
2. Must have 2 designs, each design must include the front, back, two sides and top of the bins with the artist’s watermark.
3. Submissions are to be posted on applicant’s Facebook post, where they must:
- “Like / Follow” and “mention” , and .official
- Hashtag , and
4. Submissions are open from 3rd May – 22nd May 2019 (20 days). The public vote will start on 27th May - 9th June.
5. The design can be submitted individually or with a team, but only one member is entitled to the complimentary 3-day RWMF 2019 ticket should the design has been shortlisted as one of the 15 UrBinsts.
6. Once the design has been chosen, the UrBinsts will be given new bins with RM300 seed funding to finish their project, and the final bins will be placed around the festival grounds for use.
