Six foreign dive instructors have been arrested on Koh Tao, Thailand, over alleged work permit violations.

The group, consisting of one British and five Spanish nationals, reportedly held Destination Thailand Visas (DTVs), but Thai authorities allege these did not authorise them to work as paid dive instructors.

The case highlights an important distinction for travelling dive professionals: having a valid visa does not necessarily mean having permission to work.

No convictions have been reported, and the allegations remain subject to the Thai legal process.

📢 IMPORTANT NOTICE – UPDATED PACKAGE RATES
**Effective 1 September 2026**

Dear valued guests, friends and supporters,

We would like to inform you that Labuan Rusukan Besar Resort (LRBR) will be revising our Island Hopping and Overnight Package rates and booking conditions, effective **1 September 2026**.

This is not a decision we have made lightly.

For as long as possible, we have tried our very best to maintain our existing rates and absorb the increasing costs of operating an island tourism business.

However, the continued increase/ fluctuates in petrol and diesel costs has placed significant pressure on our operations. Fuel is an essential part of our daily business, affecting boat operations, transportation, logistics, supplies and many other costs involved in running an island resort.

At the same time, the tourism industry does not enjoy the same fuel subsidy support available to certain other sectors.

We have tried our best to hold our prices for as long as we could. Unfortunately, we have now reached a point where continuing with the previous rates is no longer sustainable.

💙 This adjustment is necessary to ensure that LRBR can continue operating and serving our guests in the years ahead.

We sincerely hope our guests will understand that this revision is not simply about increasing prices. It is about allowing us to sustain our operations, maintain our services, take care of our island and continue providing a safe and enjoyable experience for our visitors.

🌴 UPDATED PACKAGE RATES

Effective for trips from 1 September 2026

ISLAND HOPPING DAY TRIP
👥 Minimum 5 persons
💰 RM1,500 per group

2 DAYS 1 NIGHT – OVERNIGHT FULL BOARD
👥 Minimum 4 persons
💰 RM2,400 minimum charge per group

3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS – OVERNIGHT
👥 Minimum 4 persons
💰 RM3,600 minimum charge per group

For groups below the minimum number of persons, the applicable minimum group charge will apply.
