"This is my favourite Reef and i named it after the school i went"

Hats off to our LD's Veteran Dive instructor, Dominic Monteroso for a great discovery and named this very special reef after one of the best School in Lahad Datu, St. Dominic! He has been diving around Darvel Bay and made it like his playground for over 25 years! He is definitely one of few great tourism players in Lahad Datu who made the world setting their Eyes on our beautiful hometown!

Sotong telur masin? Sotong masak sambal? Ginger sotong? Sotong steamboat? Grilled sotong? We are pretty sure a lot has come to mind when u have such a tasty encounter down there! But there are some rules and regulations when you dive. One of them is to enjoy watching without getting too close and refrain from touching. Never seawalk or dive before? LAHAD DATU is definitely a perfect destination for u to plan your first ever experience!

Special thanks to : 📷 Dominic Monteroso

More and more hidden gems discovered in Lahad Datu! We are just giving you more options to ensure that you will be fully occupied once u arrived either via domestic flight or a long drive through an interesting road trip. One thing for sure, when it comes to Nature, Sabah has its own league where nothing beats it. This is Bagahak Waterfall, roughly 40km from Lahad Datu town towards Felda.

In case you don't know what Nemo(Clown fish) is, it is one of the most popular species in every visitor's checklist to see whenever they book for ocean-based activities such as seawalking, snorkeling or discover scuba diving (dsd) for the first time. Is it common to see? Yes it is! Despite the tiny cute size, they are actually very protective. They may become cutely aggressive if u get too close to their home.

River trekking has become quite popular these days especially here in Lahad Datu. Merabung river trek offers you few trails based on your stamina level. The most popular one is the 3.4km trek through this wonderful hidden gem in Tungku District! Hiking in between 2 huge nature walls surely gives you a good adrenaline rush along the way.

This is one of Lahad Datu's Icon underwater, The Cabbage Reef! For all divers out there, this should be in your Bucket list. Once you are fully occupied and satisfied with all the turtle sightings, schools of Barracuda and many more in Semporna, come drive to Lahad Datu and this time, searching for this iconic reef should be your next mission!

Welcome to our new page. As the name suggests, we are helping to promote Lahad Datu into a whole new level in tourism in order to help the local development communities. Years back, when we mentioned Lahad Datu, it was always about the topics of Danum Valley and Tabin Wildlife Reserved. But now as we set our eyes on more adventures and explorations in this beautiful coastal town on the south eastern of Sabah, we realized there are so many HIDDEN GEMS waiting to amaze the local and international visitors.
