Husky coat is not “just thick fur.”

A Siberian Husky has a double coat: straight guard hairs on the outside and a soft, dense undercoat underneath.

In winter, that undercoat becomes fuller and traps insulating air close to the skin.

In summer, the guard hairs stay, but the undercoat is reduced after shedding — so the coat feels lighter and less dense.

That is why shaving a Husky is not the shortcut people think it is. The coat is not decoration. It is engineering.
