This was one of those projects where the brief started with a bold request.
The client wanted to rework the entire floor plan based on personal considerations. Not a minor adjustment. A full rethinking of how the home is organised.
That meant key spaces had to shift. The entire ground floor was flipped, followed by a complete re-planning to support a new spatial orientation.
From a design standpoint, changes like this always come with challenges. When the foundation shifts, everything else has to be reevaluated. The circulation, adjacency and how each space connects as a whole system.
Instead of forcing the original logic to fit, we rebuilt the layout around the new requirements.
The focus was simple:
1. Keep movement through the house clear and natural
2. Ensure natural lighting wherever possible
3. Integrate sufficient storage without disrupting flow
What emerged was not just a revised floor plan, but a recalibrated home layout that feels intentional in its new arrangement.
Here is a reminder that design is rarely about preserving an ideal "diagram", but about adapting until everything works together again.
And sometimes, the best design solution is the one that starts with a reset.
Here are the original floor plan and the reworked layout.
We’d love to hear your thoughts.
