Australian company Luyten has unveiled ASCEND, the world’s first tower crane 3D construction printer capable of building concrete structures up to 328 feet (100 meters) tall.

The system combines tower crane architecture, robotic concrete printing, AI, and digital construction tools to automate high-rise construction.

ASCEND can operate within a 148-foot (45-meter) radius, reach heights of 328 feet, and be installed in just one to two days.

Luyten says the technology could help address labor shortages, rising housing demand, productivity challenges, and material waste in the construction industry.

The printer uses the company’s Ultimatecrete material and AI-powered workflows to optimize printing, monitor progress in real time, and improve construction efficiency.
