Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association (MCTA), one of the top 5 tourism associations in Malaysia, was established in 1992 in Kuala Lumpur. Since then, MCTA has expanded to other states with the formation of Chapters in Johor, Perak, Sabah, Negeri Sembilan, and Penang in 2012, and has further expanded to Sarawak, Selangor, and Labuan lately. MCTA received ISO 9001:2008 certification in 2013 for the
provision of quality management and event services. To enhance the Association’s professional and international image, MCTA has established long-term tourism cooperation relationships with many foreign tourism boards and organizations. MCTA also works very closely with the Ministry of Tourism and Tourism Malaysia in the promotion and development of Malaysian tourism both domestically and internationally. Since the establishment of the MCTA Penang Chapter, the Penang Chapter has grown into one of the most profitable chapters, and with over 80 members, our membership has tripled in the past 3 years. Over the years, we have built close relationships with airlines, both local and international tourism organizations, and are well supported by the majority of Penang's most prominent inbound and outbound travel agents. The Penang Chapter is run by a group of committees which are reputable and experienced top management from travel agencies. These peoples who know the industry well and are also well known among industry players.
