TRAGEDY HELP NEEDED

There has been a tragedy at Lembah Subang, the plastic recycling workshop that Pak Syam, Mak Aini and gang built with their own hands has suffered from a landslide into the Kayu Ara River near Ara Damansara. This centre was a place of work for those who were unemployed in the community and a place of peace and hope. The land has completely gone.

All of the recycling centre as well as Mak Aini's kitchen where she and her friends prepared for events and kenduri's

This project is already making a big difference, we want to add the cherry on top so we are ready to expand.

The Role
Upcycled by Fuze Ecoteer, a project under the pioneering social enterprise Fuze Ecoteer, is dedicated to increase recycling rates in PPR Lembah Subang, located on the banks of Kayu Ara River. Our aim is to develop environmental stewardship within the communities of PPR Lembah Subang through precious plastic business models. As such, Upcycled by FE is seeking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join us as the Project Leader. This is an exceptional opportunity to take the lead in an impactful project with an established community group already working with our precious plastic machines.

As the project leader, you will be responsible for the day to day admin and operations of upcycled alongside our community champions. We are now looking to go to the next level. This is perfect for people with a passion to fight for the plastic problem and who are detailed and process orientated, so our impact can be scaled.

Did you know that initially Fuze Ecoteer was born in Sabah, Borneo ??? Yeah our co-founder Daniel went on a 1 year internship with Borneo Ecotours in 2005 and that changed his life !!!

Why Are We Fundraising?
The money raised will go towards the development of our Upcycled by FE community recycling project at PPR Lembah Subang, with the long term goal of fostering environmental stewardship of Kayu Ara River.

Goal 1 – To upscale the size of our production centre, increasing our capacity to collect and store recyclables from the community.
Goal 2 – To purchase machinery so we can repurpose higher volumes of recyclable plastic waste into furniture and construction materials.

Goal 3 – To purchase shredding machines that can process larger volumes of plastic waste.

The words preservation and conservation are often used interchangeably. But really they are two distinct approaches to managing and protecting natural resources, ecosystems, and cultural heritage.

It’s not that one is better over the other. But it certainly depends on context.
