This past month has been nothing short of special. 💛 I had the privilege of leading two community walks and a hike in my beloved hometown, Rifle Range, as part of the Rifle Range Exhibition (Jul–Sep).
A huge thank you to Penang City Eye for making this heartfelt project possible. 🙌 Never in my life did I imagine that my humble hometown — a place many only know for its flats — could host something so meaningful.
Walking these familiar paths with visitors brought back so many memories — like the days I’d run around the open spaces with childhood friends, or sneak through the cemetery shortcut to the trails, laughing all the way. Seeing people from all walks of life — locals, Penangites who’ve never been here, and even foreigners — experience this little community for the first time filled me with pride and gratitude.
Rifle Range may not have the UNESCO spotlight like George Town, but it holds something equally precious — a place where time stands still in the 80s and 90s, where the simple, genuine lifestyle of the B40 community still thrives. Every corner tells a story, and every face here is a reminder of what community truly means.
