Pilgrim’s Rest is a small town along the Panorama Route, known for its historical significance and picturesque setting. It was established in the 1800’s after gold was discovered in the area which attracted prospectors. In the 1980’s was declared a national monument to preserve its history.
Surrounded by mountains and lush greenery and an historical heritage site, it is definitely a must visit 😀

Just 32km away from the Maputo Bay, good for just a day visit or a little getaway from the hectic city, is Inhaca Island.
Despite Mozambique being a Portuguese colony, this island was first occupied by the British Forces.
Well known for its warm waters, diverse marine life as it is part of a marine conservation area and also home to more than 300 birds species. It is definitely a place worth visiting.
Just a few shots taken on one of our visits to the island.

Exciting news from Maputo National Park as hyenas were spotted through the parks trap cameras.
The conservation team was already suspicious of their presence because of the track marks but until now, none had been spotted. 😃

Congratulations to the Administração Nacional das Áreas de Conservação and the Peace Parks Foundation for the incredible work being done in Maputo National Park.
