Well… this isn’t on the usual Chidenguele itinerary!

An Indian cargo ship had an unexpected beach day this week after running aground just off Chidenguele Beach in Gaza Province, Mozambique.

The vessel reportedly experienced a mechanical problem, drifted off course, and ended up parked a little closer to shore than planned. Not exactly a five-star docking procedure.

🛟 The good news:
✔️ Everyone is safe
✔️ No environmental damage reported
✔️ No risk to tourists or locals
✔️ Authorities are on site and handling it

The ship was travelling from Durban to Nigeria and is now waiting for technical assistance to help it get back to doing ship things… preferably in the ocean.

📸 Until then, Chidenguele gets a bonus attraction — a cargo ship with prime beachfront views.

Sometimes even ships can’t resist Mozambique’s coastline 😄
