The coastal wilderness of Maputaland

🐋🐚🦀🌊

You know a place is going to be good when you’re still miles away and the sign says “4x4s only.”

Thonga Beach Lodge sits far north in Maputaland, near the Mozambique border. It’s tropical, quiet, and so remote it feels like an island.🌞 Where you can spend your days on the beach, snorkeling through coral reefs just offshore, and if you’re lucky, watching whales roll by and turtles hatch in the sand.

One of those corners of South Africa that still feels completely wild.

Somehow this was real. Heading from the coast and taking the scenic route inland. Plitvice, part 1 ⛰️
