Official Inauguration | Conference Venue Naming Ceremony
On Friday, 27 May 2026, the Lüderitz Waterfront Development Company (LWDC) officially inaugurated three conference venues named in honour of three distinguished individuals whose leadership, service, and contributions have become an integral part of LWDC’s institutional journey: Goab Cornelius Fredericks, Susan Harris, and Ms. Seloma Julius.
The naming of these venues reflects LWDC’s commitment to preserving the legacy of those who helped shape institutions, served their communities with dedication, and contributed to the development of Lüderitz and Namibia.
These conference facilities are more than meeting spaces. They are platforms for dialogue, stakeholder engagement, training, workshops, corporate events and strategic decision-making. As Lüderitz continues to grow, these venues will play an important role in strengthening the town’s position as a business, cultural and development hub for the //Kharas Region and Namibia.
In the words of LWDC Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Fluksman Samuehl, these spaces are intended to “serve as catalysts for innovative discussions” and give rise to “development ideas and major decisions” that contribute to Lüderitz, the //Kharas Region, and Namibia’s competitive growth.
Mr. Samuehl further reflected:
“Success is never a solo endeavour; it is the result of collective passion. By drawing inspiration from those who came before us, who sacrificed, worked diligently, and helped pave the way, we are able to achieve what is possible today.”
LWDC remains committed to honouring this legacy while creating spaces that inspire progress, strengthen institutions, and support meaningful development for Lüderitz and beyond.
