A Dream Two and a Half Years in the Making
What started as a simple curiosity for archery has grown into an incredible family journey filled with dedication, perseverance, laughter, long road trips, countless hours of practice, and unforgettable memories.
Today, we are proud and humbled to share that Adrian Compaan and Heidi Compaan have both been selected to represent Namibia at the AGA Africa Tournament in Botswana from 12–16 August 2026.
Representing your country is something every athlete dreams of, and for a mother and son to have the opportunity to stand side-by-side wearing the Namibian colours makes this achievement even more special.
My name is Adrian Compaan, and I am writing to humbly request your support as I prepare to represent Namibia at the the AGA Africa Tournament in Botswana.
My archery journey began two and a half years ago, alongside my younger brother, Karl Compaan. Archery is a unique sport where success is achieved one arrow at a time, teaching discipline, focus, perseverance, and personal growth. From the moment we started, we dreamed of one day representing Namibia on an international stage.
Last year, I had the privilege of representing Namibia as part of the NAPSO Team in Botswana. That experience strengthened my passion for the sport and inspired me to work even harder towards achieving my goals. Today, I am incredibly honoured to have been selected as a member of the AGA Namibian Development Team for the 2026 the AGA Africa Tournament in Botswana.
What makes this achievement even more special is that my mother, Heidi Compaan, has also been selected to represent Namibia as part of the AAG Team. After spending countless hours supporting Karl and me at competitions and training sessions, she decided to take up archery herself and began her own journey in October 2025. In a relatively short time, through dedication and determination, she has achieved the incredible honour of being selected to represent Namibia alongside me.
